Warm Up

I bought new shoes for when I go into the office to work and they arrived yesterday.

They’re not the most comfortable so I am breaking them in this AM… working from home in shoes 😝

Frida Southwest

Last month Ito came to visit OKC and see the house for the first time. I dragged him out to brunch with OKC’s finest!

Michael, Julianne, Ito, me, Sabah & Tove all met at Frida Southwest in the Paseo Arts District and let me tell you about their brunch…

Their mimosas were crisp and to my liking. They also had some fun other options on their brunch libations menu. Julianne and Michael were less basic than Ito and I 😋.

We started with some burrata/prosciutto with sourdough bread. Their house made biscuits were also delish.

I stuck with a simple caprese salad and their presentations just blew me away. I will say I could’ve done with a bit less oil but it was a nice touch to soften up the fried cheese.

Michael is ultimate daddy. that’s all.

To finish up we ordered a giant cinnamon bun for the table. I mean giant! Sabah’s hand for scale ^^

I’ve been waiting and wanting to try Frida Southwest for a while now and wow I should’ve gone sooner. Honestly one of the top 2 meals I’ve had in OKC.

Mom shoes

So not gonna lie, haven’t been wearing heels as much as I used to. Feels safer with Tove when I’m wearing flats and solo with her.

Meet my new mom shoes- the Fila Disruptor 2. Big shout out to Panda for the addition to my collection. Definitely gives me an extra pep in my step 🌝

Spring fling

Tove’s napping in my arms so while I’m stuck on the couch I started surfing the web for shoes.

I came across these from Steve Madden and I’m slightly obsessed. The colors, the utility of the shoe.. yeah this is like the ultimate mom shoe for the spring/summer 😅 (nothing will ever replace my love for heels but utility!)

She is blooming

Snapped these photos of Tove wearing some of the gifts she received at the baby shower.

This onesie was gifted by one of my favorite people I’ve met here in Oklahoma, Sierra. It reads “let kindness bloom” and I love the message.

I hope Tove grows up to be a kind and compassionate human.

The socks and matching bow were gifted from Megan, my high school friend in Dallas.

I love the socks because the bows on top as well as the color markings make them look like little shoes!

They may be one of my favorite gifts we received simply because mamma has a shoe obsession and Tove is obviously not walking yet.

Catch up

Today Tove and I went to brunch with a friend I met back when I attended high school at John Paul II High School. Megan (peep her shoes 😍) and her mom were sweet enough to drive all the way from Tulsa this morning to meet us for brunch at Kitchen no.324 in Oklahoma City.

I love their brunch and ordered a chai tea latte with their open faced sandwich. So. So. Good. Every time. Like every time I’ve been, it took a long time to get my latte 😅 but as long as you’re not super hungry or in a hurry it’s worth it.

The ladies got to “meet” a sleepy Tove and we got to catch up a bit. I had a lovely time and super thankful I got a chance to sneak in a girls brunch.

I have a few items in my closet that either are very lightly used, or haven’t ever been worn. I finally did something about it and decided to put them on a resell website!

I’ve used the Poshmark website before to buy shoes and it was super easy and they came in great condition. I downloaded the app and started uploading a few items. It’s not much so I’ll add more as time goes on, I just didn’t have the motivation to do it all at once.

I haven’t gotten any comments or bids yet, but figured it can’t hurt to try. So if you want to snoop in my closet, go for it!

Hello Spring

Those of you who know me, or have seen me out and about know i have an affection for heels. Not the run-of-the-mill black patent pumps kind either. Any pair of shoes that can give me a good bump in height has a special place in my heart. Gotta love those 90’s platforms, or those killer Jeffrey Campbells.

Now that Spring is here (technically), i decided to oust some of my ratchet heels from last year and invite a few new pairs into the cult in my closet. Mind you, all of these are relatively vanilla compared to what i normally wear.

Gotta have a pair of black sandals, there’s just no surviving without. I opted for a pair of beige ones as well.. not my favorite color but they blend well with a tan and some summery dresses.

Last but not least, i had to decide whether to indulge my inner Barbie Girl or go for a more “mature” color. I did the latter, *ahem still not so mature*. I think these will be my staples for the upcoming months.

The summer flew by in a flurry of madness, bikinis, sparkling water and a love gone wrong. The fall brought new excitement and near October i thought i had it all. November came and threw me off my game. It’s all a blur how we got here but in January, we both knew it was wrong. All the hope i thought i had found and captured, slipped through my fingers. I don’t know when exactly i lost it, i don’t know where it has gone. All i know is i tried to hold on.

and someone will hate it because it’s crude,
